ABOUT

Volunteerism fosters a sense of community and provides much needed assistance to non-profits. Many people do not volunteer because they are unaware of their options or feel they do not have the time. The 2005 Metro Denver Volunteer-a-thon will inform the public that volunteering is fun and does not necessarily require an extensive time commitment.
What: A television special that promotes volunteerism
When: The show will air LIVE on April 20th from 6pm - 10pm on your local government cable Channel 8. It will then be rebroadcast during the weekend.
Who: The show will be hosted by:
- Mike Kabjian, local entrepreneur and founder of the Community Buzz
- Jim Rettew, CU professor and former city council candidate
Where: You local government cable Channel 8.
Goal: To expand the base of enthusiastic volunteers in the Denver Metro area by encouraging residents and companies to collectively pledge 500,000 volunteer hours.

These interviews will be supplemented by previously filmed 'on-location' footage that will showcase the activities of the non-profit.
